Information about the area

To the east of Kyrenia lies, among others, Karakum 1 km, Ozankoy 3 km, Catalkoy 7 km and Arapkoy 10 km east of the center of Kyrenia and which has always been a popular area to live in, with a history dating back to the 13th century. Here you can just sit back and enjoy the peace and quiet. For those who prefer the sound of lapping waves and seclusion, Karakum Beach is just minutes away, or try the hammam at Lara Beach, just a few minutes' drive to the east. If you like beaches, water sports, good vibes, good food, beer on the beach and even with dancing under the stars, then there is also the Acapulco beach resort just minutes away. Acapulco has one of the best beaches in northern Cyprus, with golden sand that slopes gently into the sea, perfect for youngsters. This resort offers everything you need for an experience-filled day by the Mediterranean. Nature lovers should go to Alagadi beach, where rare sea turtles bury their eggs deep in the golden sand. There are also plenty of activities in Catalkoy 10 minutes drive from Kyrenia city center, diving, paragliding from the mountains and local horse riding at Catalkoy stables, located at the top of the village . In Catalkoy center you will discover many shops, which offer everything you need. Catalkoy has several very good restaurants. The Mardin restaurant in the south of the village is popular with the locals and while the Ani Restaurant specializes in fresh fish! If you want a touch of glamour, spend a night at the nearby Malpas Hotel. This five-star hotel welcomes foreigners to its bars. Try your luck at the casino gaming tables, or dance the night away at the hotel's Club Babylon.Esentepe, Bacheli and Tatlisu are one of the villages that many vacationers choose to buy a home in, nestled in the foothills of five finger mountains, steeped in history and panoramic views. Esentepe has its own beach, schools, doctor's office, bank, police station and a number of shops. You can enjoy a relaxing quiet day exploring Esentepe and its surroundings and enjoying a meal at one of the many restaurants. There are also some historic buildings that should be seen and these include the famous medieval vaulted Antiphonitis Church which dates back to the 13th century.
