Demirtas is behind Kargicak towards Gazipasa. Here the landscape looks a little different as there are no tall buildings and a lot of agriculture. Demir = iron and Tas = stone and the village used to be called järnstenen. Then it was called Sedire (Syedra) and the ancient city of Syedra is on the border of Demirtas. The bronze statue of Hercules is found in Demirtas and can be seen in Alanya's museum. From here it is about half an hour up to Sapadere canyon, which is a popular excursion destination Demirtas is a very green area with a lot of agriculture, little tourism and residential areas.
